Just ask Melissa her favorite thing about her career as a registered dietitian and she will tell you “the food!”   In nearly 10 years as a registered dietitian, Melissa has helped clients to shed pounds, manage digestive problems, combat nutrition issues related to aging, and navigate what “healthy eating” means for specific individuals, at specific times of their lives.   You can be sure to find her enjoying a hot cup of coffee, baking brownies and searching new recipes on Pinterest to entice some of her most challenging clients, her family!

Melissa delights in adventures with her children, running, helping others find balance and fun in healthier eating, and microbrews.

Working from home meant we could vary snack and coffee breaks, change our desks or view, goof off, drink on the job, even spend the day in pajamas

Mimi grew up in Chicago and has lived in southwest Michigan for the past 10 years.” I have three amazing kids who keep me busy on a daily basis. I am a self- described endorphin junkie, and when I’m not chasing after my children, or my puppy, I’m chasing my other passion – XTERRA.   I do between 6 and 7 XTERRA races per season; I am the current and 4-time 40-44 division women’s world champion.  Training can be grueling at times, but it keeps me sane and makes me a better person toward both my family and friends. It continually pushes me to limits I never thought I could reach. I love the physical and mental challenges a triathlon presents I truly believe that becoming   fit is possible for anybody as long as they have perseverance. I try and live daily the message of my favorite quote: “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”  --Mae West 4 Time 40-44 Division Women’s World Champion, AFAA Personal Trainer, AFAA Group Exercise , USAT Level 1 Certified Coach, Real Ryder, TRX,   CPR
Originally from Toledo Ohio, Missy moved to SW Michigan in late 2010 and never looked back – she loves living, working and exercising in this beautiful community. Missy is a workout fanatic and is an AFAA certified Group Ex instructor. She also holds certifications in Real Ryder, TRX and Shockwave. When asked what her favorite thing to teach is, Missy replies “everything”! You can find her on the schedule in the early morning, at noon or in the evening on any given day.  She thinks the best thing about Maddog 5/1 is the unique atmosphere – it’s a true community where both the trainers and the clients they serve want the very best for each other and work very hard to make that happen. Outside of Maddog Missy is an empty nester but stays busy running the First Choice program for Cornerstone Alliance.
Jami was born and raised in St. Joseph; a  relocation to  Denver is where  and when  Jami  fell in love with fitness - barre classes and anything "boot camp" are  among my  favorites. As beautiful as Colorado is, I missed my family in St. Joe and the ever beautiful Lake Michigan, I returned home to be near family and the Lake. My husband and I have a combined team of  4 kids between us that range in age from  8 to 15 and  boy do they  keep us on the go! My first class   as a client at Maddog 5/1 was FireBarre 5/1 and I was hooked. I started training with Marydawn within days of taking my first  class. I love teaching Bike RR  Barre, FireBarre, and the Fierce 5/1 classes. We have the best team and the most amazing clients who push me to be a better Trainer. We are all so much stronger than we think and I see it every day in classes that I teach!
