Let’s be honest here babe, Covid-19 forced us into a sedentary lifestyle. We were stay at home, binge watching, couch lounging ~ sweat pant clad creatures. Among the “things” we lost track of… Our barely recognizable healthy routines and our social lives missing in action!

A new day is upon us; businesses are open and social life can resume ~ best of all you can trash your mask if vaccinated, whoop! All of us are soooo happy to be able to eat at our fav restaurants, sing and dance and WORKOUT IN OUR FAV STUDIO/gym/clubs!

Now the reality sets in; our clothes are tight, our tempers are short, our self esteem has crumbled and our relationships are testy. Our mental and physical health in combination have suffered. You are left feeling helpless and disoriented~ how do I get back to me?

Take control, starting today, right now. Take down the road blocks you’ve set up for yourself and start your journey back with gusto!

Obviously this is going to be about a fitness journey because I truly believe that’s the start to a better day. I know that our mental health is tied to our physical health~ sound body, sound mind! ACSM Guidelines:ACSM and CDC recommendations state that:

  • All healthy adults aged 18 and up should participate in moderate intensity aerobic physical activity for a minimum of 30 minutes~ five days per week, or vigorous intensity aerobic activity for a minimum of 20 min on three days per week.

  • Every adult should perform activities that maintain or increase muscular strength and endurance for a minimum of two days per week.

  • Fad or rigid diets DO NOT WORK.

  • LONG TERM RESULTS TAKE LONG TERM, SLOW AND STEPPED CHANGES.

  • CHANGE HURTS~BUT ONLY MOMENTARILY.

  • Standing is better than sitting (note: I just stood up to finish this writing)

  • Walking is better than nothing, but don’t you deserve more?

  • Running isn't for everyone but you’d be surprised at what you can accomplish if you just start.

  • Get your heart rate up, get sweaty!

  • Starting anything is the hardest part, so just start!

  • Plan to succeed by scheduling your workouts.
